Starting with Neanderthal Britain, this timeline charts the major time periods and events in British history, right up to the recent Coalition Government. Made from a series of rigid aluminum plates that butt together, local historical events can also be added, customizing each timeline to suit each school. Events such as, when the school opened, when it won an award, when it was awarded a particular status or won a trophy can be added. Events that happed in the local town or children's own work could also be included. This additional information, provided by the school, is added to create a local and national history plate that is inserted, replacing the relevant section on the timeline. Three such local/national plates are included.
